The prayer group was started in 1989, and was created because throughout history, the bible and in the appearances of our Blessed Mother in Medjugorje there has always been a call to prayer. At the end of every message from Our Lady at Medjugorje, she says: Thank you for responding to my call. Her call is to pray, to attend Mass, to pray for Peace, to pray with the body in fasting, to pray the rosary, to pray by reading and living the bible and to pray to know and to love God above all else.
The prayer group meets every other Tuesday night at 6:30-8:15pm. The complete Rosary is prayed for Peace and intentions of the prayer group, with reflections from the Bible, and messages from Medjugorje. The prayer group holds an annual May Crowning of the Blessed Mother. The prayer group is involved in many humanitarian projects which include running a bake sale, raffles and collection of Christmas shoe boxes for the poor and needy in Croatia and Haiti or where the need is. The prayer group is also involved in protesting in front of Planned Parenthood.
